An award that matches the family legacy of Theater.
My grand father #ShriJashwantThaker used to do Theater with Balraj Sahani, Prithvi raj kapoor, Jay Shankar Sundari etc. Raj Kapoor used to do lights for his plays then. He was loved by Shri Arvind and Mataji. He designed the first Theater course of india with C C Mehta in Vadodara MSUniversity. Later he started drama departments in Rajkot and Ahmedabad Gujarat College. He wrote 48 books on Theater and directed more than 100 plays in a life time.

Under his guidance my Maa #ShriAditiDesai started acting at a very tender age of 15. For 45 years she has acted and directed more than 70 plays and has made more than 20 films.

My father #ShriBharatDave Studied in #nationalschoolofdramanewdelhi #1976 batch with Pankaj kapoor, raj Babbar, Anupam Kher, raghuveer Yadav, anu kapoor etc. He has written 7 books on Theater and has directed more than 30 plays.

With these stalwarts as my parents, both my parents being the Gujarat Government’s Gaurav Puraskar awardees and my nana winning the Nehru Award and the sahitya Akadami award in late 60’s, life comes a full circle when I win it today
